Why I Want You To Mentor Me

For me, mentorship is all about learning. It is so important for a client to learn something from their mentor so that they can develop and become a better, more successful person. We can learn so much from the smallest of things and do so on a daily basis. What is more, we learn from a wide variety of things (even things with which we are unfamiliar). That is the reason for the title of this blog. That is the reason why I want you to mentor me; I feel that I could learn so much from all of you reading this blog. You all have lived different lives and will, therefore, have discovered different ways to succeed and lead a good life. The fact that you could all come from various backgrounds is really so fascinating and would make you excellent mentors for me. Let me hence explain a few more reasons as to why I would want you to mentor me.

First and foremost, I would want you to mentor me because it is more than likely that you have lived a different life compared to me. You probably grew up in a different area, went to a different school and currently have a different profession. You may think that this would mean that you could not mentor me, but that is not the case. I feel that you would, in fact, make an even better mentor for me because you would enable me to see things from a different perspective. From being in a different working environment, for example, you could give me an insight into a different way of achieving success. This is highly useful information as it could be transferred to bring success in my own area of work.

Secondly, you would be able to mentor me about virtues that you deem important. You may, for example, find patience to be the most important virtue whereas your friend may disagree and prefer courage. This is likely to occur on a large scale and so I would better understand the importance of all virtues and hence develop into a more well-rounded individual. Essentially, if you were to mentor me, I would be able to live a more virtuous life which ought to lead me closer to success and happiness.

In summary, I hope that you can see just why I would want you to mentor me. I think that the variety of opinions that you would all have to offer would enable me to diversify my knowledge and lead me closer to success. I hope to one day learn from some of you and become a more virtuous and successful person during the process.
